John D. Prunkl
Mr. Prunkl is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Primary Energy and is a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Prunkl’s experience includes leading EnerTech Environmental as its President and Chief Operating Officer during the commissioning of the world’s first SlurryCarb renewable fuel facility in Rialto, California. Mr. Prunkl held the position of President of Primary Energy and President of EPCOR USA, serving as manager of Primary Energy from 2006 to 2008. From 2001 to 2006 he held the position of Executive Vice President of Operations when Primary Energy and its predecessor Private Power experienced significant growth from a series of successful acquisitions.
Earlier in his career Mr. Prunkl co-founded MetroGen LLC, an energy start up company that was instrumental in the aggregation of standby generators in New York City that prevented brownouts and blackouts. In 1996 Mr. Prunkl joined Illinova Generating Company (now part of Dynegy) as Vice President of Operations where he managed a global portfolio of diverse power generating assets from wind to coal. During this same time period he also served as President of Illinova Resource Recovery, a subsidiary specializing in the generation of electric power from industrial waste byproducts. John Prunkl began his career at GE Power Systems holding a variety of management positions including leading the technical and commercial sale of gas turbines, steam turbines and turnkey power plants primarily in the Asian market.
John holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics from Huntingdon College.
Joseph Powell
Mr. Powell is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he is responsible for financial reporting and managerial accounting, tax matters, treasury management, human resources and other administrative matters. Mr. Powell was most recently the Company's Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and has been involved with Primary Energy Recycling since its 2005 initial public offering as a direct employee, and under the prior Management Agreement structure. Mr. Powell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University, a Master of Business Administration from J.L. Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and is a Certified Public Accountant. His previous employment experience includes CFO responsibilities and approximately 17 years in the public accounting environment, including eight years in the audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
Christopher Fanella
Mr. Fanella is Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. In this position, Mr. Fanella is primarily responsible for financings, strategy, business development, investor relations, commercial contracts, business risk analysis and other administrative matters. Prior to joining Primary Energy, Mr. Fanella was Executive Vice President at Lakeside Energy where he was responsible for corporate strategy and initiating, structuring, financing and coordinating investment opportunities. Mr. Fanella also served on the board of directors of InEnTec Inc. Prior to joining Lakeside Energy in 2007, Mr. Fanella served as Vice President of Finance at Primary Energy where his responsibilities included the identification, structuring and execution of all capital transactions. Mr. Fanella also was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the financial community. Mr. Fanella began his career as an Analyst in the Global Industrial and Services Group at Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Fanella graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame.
